Drip Pan vessel paintings

A collage of various ceramic bowls in different colors and textures, some on textured backgrounds and others on plain surfaces.

The Drip Pan vessels series begins with a carefully chosen river rock from a cherished river in Eldorado County. This rock serves as the genesis for hand forming ceramic bowls, crafted with the intention of inviting a pause and contemplation of time. Once these bowls are fired to full vitrification, they become the models for the drip pan paintings, embodying the journey from nature to art, and from stillness to reflection. Distressed drip pans are painted into with various materials, lacquered then waxed. This work encapsulates the essence of nature’s quiet revelations, inspiring viewers to reconnect with the timeless dialogues between self and the natural world.

This work is available in two formats:

Original artwork—Mixed media in metal drip pan. Hand-built ceramic river rock bowls serve as the models for these mixed media vessel paintings on distressed galvanized steel.

Archival Digital Print—High-resolution reproduction on archival paper.
